To my mother
We all have people that we admire we respect we love, sometimes even subconsciously when we don’t see it and one person, I truly admired and respect is my mother. She gave me the voice to allow me to write my own books. We would sit for hours listening to her, read her poetry, and when my mom finally accomplished something we dreamed about as kids to be published author with her book the day, I pray by candlelight and me being able to go to see her first performance in New York City I was truly grateful I used to take her poems and pretend like they were mine for years, and I truly respect and value her for showing me how to be a writer showing me that courage is not always being fearless, it is to keep moving even when you’re scared I wanna tell her thank you. Thank you for allowing me to have a voice, thank you for showing me how to be a writer thank you for show me that no matter what you keep going and you never quit there’s no excuses in life
