Why rest is a part of the journey
Why Rest Is Part of the Journey
When most people think about success, they picture constant movement—working longer hours, doing more, and never slowing down.
Lately, I’ve been learning something different.
Some seasons require hard work. Other seasons require wisdom. And sometimes wisdom is knowing when to rest.
This morning I woke up with a headache. Instead of pushing myself beyond my limits, I ate a nourishing meal, drank water, took care of myself, and spent time praying. I sat quietly, looked over my garden, and reminded myself that not every problem has to be solved in one day.
As the founder of Key of Essence, it’s easy to become so focused on making sales, paying bills, and building a business that I forget to care for the person behind the business.
Today was a reminder that self-care isn’t a reward after success.
It’s part of the process.
Our mission has always been bigger than skincare or wellness products. We want to help people create moments of peace in the middle of busy lives. Whether it’s taking five deep breaths, spending a few minutes outside, drinking enough water, or simply allowing yourself to slow down, those small choices matter.
I’m still building. I’m still learning. I’m still working toward my goals. But I’m also learning to trust God’s timing instead of trying to force everything to happen all at once.
Growth doesn’t always look like doing more.
Sometimes growth looks like resting, praying, healing, and returning with a clearer mind.
Thank you for being part of the Key of Essence journey. I hope this reminds you to give yourself grace today. Your goals will still be there tomorrow, but your health, your peace, and your purpose deserve your attention today.
With gratitude,
Keshawn Kennedy
